The Rabbit and the Tortoise
Once upon a time there in a jungle lived many animals. one day there was an argument going on between all the animals about who is the most fast of them. They all were arguing with each other when suddenly the rabbit pointed at the tortoise and started laughing saying that the tortoise should not even be a part of this conversation. The tortoise really felt bad at the moment and to defend himself started to argue with the rabbit. Suddenly the rabbit started to challenge him for a race. The tortoise hesitated at first but everyone hooted and encouraged for him so he gathered courage and accepted the challenge.
Finally, it was the day of the race and all the animals of the jungle had gathered at the place where the race was about to begin. After few minutes the host announced that the race was about to begin and gave the count.....3....2....1....GO . Both the rabbit and the tortoise started the race. Now the rabbit who was already overconfident claimed that he would only win the race as the tortoise was slowest of all and the rabbit himself was the fastest. After the rabbit had covered nearly the half distance he decided to take a rest for sometime as he thought that the tortoise could not cover so much distance so quickly as he is the slowest of all.
He sat under the shade of a tree and decided to sleep for sometime. He kept on sleeping under the tree for long hours. Suddenly he heard a loud cheer of happiness around him. He woke up and saw that the noise was coming from the end point of the race. He quickly rushed towards the other animals at the end point of the race. He reached there and saw that the tortoise had reached there even before him.
He was very shocked to see him there and everyone was appreciating the tortoise for his win in the race. When they turned towards the rabbit they asked him where was he till the time. Then he explained everyone about his carelessness. So everyone told him that one should not be overconfident at all as overconfidence may sometimes lead to failure like it had happened with the him. They also told him that one should not have superiority complex, we should never ever think that we are best at something as there is always someone who may prove us wrong. So then the rabbit realised his mistake of judging the tortoise even when it is not his fault at all because god has made him that way, he is meant to be slow, no one even himself or any other person cannot help this out. So the rabbit said sorry to the tortoise and all the animals in the jungle enjoyed the treat.
